Protected seaside area of Tavolara - Capo Coda Cavallo

Just close to San Teodoro it is possibile to go on suggesting excursions for Tavolara and Molara islands that make part of the Protected Seaside Area of Tavolara - Punta Coda Cavallo.
This area was establishes in 1997 and it is considered one of the most interesting natural place of Mediterranean sea. Located on the coast from Capo Ceraso and Punta Isuledda (San Teodoro) one have to visit this protected area because there are not only natural and biological interests but even cultural and historical aspects.
Some activities are allowed and other are not allowed in order to save and respect the natural patrimony.
For joining the protected area there are different possibilities and means of transport.
On the main beaches of the territory it is possible to rent a rubber dinghy with or without skipper.

Protected Seaside Area of Tavolara - Capo Coda Cavallo

A Zone - Integral Reserve

    It is allowed:
  • The entrance of the protected sea park workers and scientific workers for researches.
  • Special underwater visits only in those prefixed areas that allow particular studies.
    It is not allowed:
  • Sunbathing.
  • Professional and sport fishing.
  • Floating traffic excluded the special boat of the protected area.

B Zone - General Reserve

    It is allowed:
  • Floating traffic and traffic boats that drive not more than 10 nodes.
  • Underwater visits and studies.
  • Sunbathing.
  • The mooring at the special docks.
  • Fishing regulated by those rules belong to the protected sea park.
    It is not allowed:
  • Profession fishing (trawling).
  • Sport fishing in all forms.

C Zone - Partial Reserve

    It is allowed:
  • General traffic of boats.
  • Mooring of boats.
  • Regulated Underwater immersions.
  • Normal fishing and sport fishing regulated by the typical rules of the protected area. (Angling).
  • The sport fishing with fishing lines and canes.

In the Protected Seaside area will be emanated a temporary discipline from the Harbor Master's Office of Olbia that regulated in the detail the various activities and previews among other things that in zones "B" and "C" the anchorage is prohibited.
