You could have the possibility to have long walking on the main passages of the nature; the main that we suggest you, as follow, it's the natural way to Mount Nieddu.
Route number 1: direct to the Mount Nieddu peak
With medium/high difficulty, for all the mountain bike lovers.
- Length: 13,5 km (from Buddittògliu), 17 km to the peak.
- Difference in level: 458 mt.
- Medium slope in the first 6 km: 7%.
- Maximum slope: 20%.
- Ground: 90% dirt patch, 5% cement, 5% asphalt.
Leaving from San Teodoro you could have a great start along the main road n° 125 in Nuoro direction
(the road is well built without any handicaps). After having walked for 4,5 km, you have to leave the main road
and drive on the right in Aresula street. After having passed few houses of the village Buddittogliu, take left in
Carrulu Ecchiu street until you'll find the valley that will drive you to Mount Nieddu.
Driving along this natural patch you could see how nature become very hard and typically Mediterranean with rose
deep rocks.
At 329 mt. you'll find a small fountain with a great "wall" and after 1,5 km you'll join the deeper part of the
valley that allow 2 different ways, both very interesting and rich of the most trees of Mediterranean scrub.
From this point you could admire the greatness of the sea view towards Olbia with a lot of different small islands
that surround the coast.
After having taken the left side and seen the forest station of Pistriconi toward the peak, the road become very
hard and difficult even for the best mountain bikers with deep and rocky valleys.
